Alexa Davalos

Alexa Davalos, born in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, has a pedigree that sounds glamorous, but what actually wins me over is her composure on screen. Her turn as Juliana Crain in The Man in the High Castle was quiet yet spine-straight, the kind of restrained leading work that holds a whole series together. Even back in Riddick and Defiance, she showed more grit than the model-turned-actress label would suggest. I admire that she seems to choose carefully rather than flood the market, favoring substantial roles over volume. That selectivity reads as taste to me, and I'm curious what she takes on next.
