Anees Bazmee

Anees Bazmee deserves more credit than the critics usually give him, because making a nation laugh consistently is genuine craft. With No Entry, Welcome, and Singh is Kinng, he became one of Hindi cinema's most reliable architects of broad comedy, and his Bhool Bhulaiyaa sequels proved he could pull massive crowds into horror-comedy too. Comedy is the hardest genre to land and the easiest to dismiss, yet his box-office record speaks for itself. Coming from Modasa in Gujarat and also writing his scripts, he understands the mechanics of mass entertainment intimately. I respect filmmakers who treat the audience's laughter as the only review that matters.
