Angie Martinez

Angie Martinez earned the title 'The Voice of New York' the hard way, and to me that nickname tells the whole story. Holding the mic at Hot 97 for nearly three decades, she became a living witness to hip-hop's golden era from inside the booth. What impresses me most is her refusal to stand still: singer, model, actress, and now podcaster, she keeps reinventing the medium while staying true to the city that made her. I value longevity and connection over a single hit, and few people have stayed culturally relevant as gracefully or as long as she has.
