My Take

Asia Argento has never made it easy to be her fan, and that is precisely why I respect her. Born into Italian horror royalty as Dario Argento's daughter, she could have coasted on the family name; instead she won two David di Donatello awards while still young and built a career across acting, directing, and music out of raw, uncomfortable honesty. Her work feels like an open wound, which is not to everyone's taste, but I find that refusal to be polished or likable genuinely rare in European cinema. She is a turbulent, complicated figure, yet the talent underneath the chaos is undeniable. I keep watching because she keeps risking everything.
