Atul Kulkarni

Atul Kulkarni is the kind of actor I deeply admire. Moving fluidly across Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and English cinema, his range is genuinely extraordinary. Two National Film Awards for Best Supporting Actor speak to his craft, but what truly impresses me is that he also leads an organization devoted to improving the quality of education. That blend of artistry and social conscience clearly feeds into his writing and producing work too. I find his quiet integrity far more compelling than any star wattage. To my mind, performers like him are the real backbone of Indian cinema.
