My Take

I find Bret Iwan's career quietly remarkable. Stepping into the voice of Mickey Mouse in 2009, after Wayne Allwine passed, isn't just a job, it's inheriting a piece of cultural DNA that millions of people carry from childhood. That's an enormous weight to wear lightly. What I appreciate is that he trained as a visual artist at Ringling College before landing the role, which says something about creative range. Being the official voice of arguably the most recognizable character on earth means staying invisible while being everywhere. I respect that kind of careful stewardship far more than flashier fame.
