My Take
What fascinates me about Biddu is how a kid from Bengaluru went on to shape global pop and disco across five decades. I have a soft spot for producers who build hits from the shadows, and Biddu is the archetype: a craftsman whose fingerprints are all over records most listeners never connect to a single name. His real achievement, to me, is cultural reach. He carried an Indian sensibility into Western dance music and made it land worldwide, long before that kind of cross-pollination was fashionable. I find that quiet boundary-crossing far more impressive than chart positions, and worth celebrating.
