Carlos Bernard

For me, Carlos Bernard will always be Tony Almeida, and the fact that 24 kept bringing him back across years tells you the audience adored the character as much as the writers did. What I appreciate is his foundation: an Illinois State degree followed by formal training at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, the unglamorous discipline behind a career-defining role. He branched into voice and video game work too, which I read as a craftsman unafraid of new mediums. I respect actors who etch one indelible character into pop culture and then keep working honestly. Bernard earned that lasting place, and he wears it well.
