My Take
Carol Cleveland deserves far more credit than she usually gets. As essentially the only recurring female presence in Monty Python, she had to hold her own inside one of comedy's most chaotic, male-dominated ensembles, and that is no small feat. I think threading laughs without disrupting the rhythm of others is harder than carrying a sketch outright, and she did it with grace. An Anglo-American actor, comedian, dancer, and model, she brought a versatility the troupe genuinely needed. To me she is an unsung pillar of comedy history, and she has my sincere applause.
