Yuma Nakayama

I'll be honest, the Osaka kid thing got me a little soft right away, because there's a certain unbothered ease to Yuma Nakayama that I think only comes from that part of the world. He showed up young, doing the whole idol-actor-singer triple act, and what always stuck with me was the gap: a face that still looked half a teenager paired with this strangely grown-up look in his eyes the second he started singing. Plenty of people get handed three job titles and start tripping over themselves, but he always seemed to shrug and keep his own tempo, which I respect more than I expected to. And the fact that he actually went through university tells me he's the quietly diligent type under the gloss. I'm content to just watch where he wanders next, no rush.
