Caroline Lucas

What I admire about Caroline Lucas is conviction over convenience. Leading the Green Party three separate times and winning Brighton Pavilion in 2010 as the party's first MP meant standing largely alone in Parliament, pressing climate issues long before they were fashionable. That kind of patient, principled persistence is rarer than charisma in politics. Her study at the University of Kansas likely sharpened an international outlook that informed her work. I value politicians who think in decades rather than news cycles, and Lucas strikes me as exactly that quiet, durable kind of force worth respecting.
