Christy Chung

What draws me to Christy Chung is the arc, not just the filmography. She made her name on Hong Kong screens after growing up in Montreal, then pivoted into running restaurants and building a business of her own. That second act interests me far more than the first. Plenty of performers cling to the spotlight; choosing the grind of hospitality takes a different kind of nerve. I read in her a talent for quiet self-reinvention, and I respect anyone willing to bet on themselves twice.
