Dan Stevens

Dan Stevens is one of those actors who keeps pulling off transformations you genuinely don't see coming. He broke hearts walking away from Downton Abbey at the height of Matthew Crawley's popularity, which felt like career suicide at the time — but then he turned around and played the Beast in Disney's 2017 Beauty and the Beast with this weird, soulful CGI physicality that actually worked, and followed it up with Legion, one of the most gloriously unhinged superhero shows ever made. The guy trained at Cambridge, speaks multiple languages, and clearly has zero interest in coasting on charm alone. Every few years he picks something that makes you go "wait, that was him?" and I respect that restlessness enormously.
