My Take

Daniel Schütz interests me precisely because his story didn't end when he stopped playing. A former midfielder out of Styria, he moved into coaching and serves as an assistant at SKN St. Pölten. That transition tells me a lot: the people who stay in football after their legs slow down usually love the game for its own sake, not the spotlight. At 170 cm he was never going to overpower anyone, so I imagine he survived on reading the play and positioning, the kind of intelligence that translates beautifully into coaching. I have real respect for the unglamorous craftsmen who become the backbone of a club.
