My Take

Darren Barr's CV reads like a tour of Scottish football, and that breadth is precisely what earns my respect. Falkirk, Hearts, Kilmarnock, Ross County and more all wanted this Glasgow-born defender, and a single Scotland cap in 2008 capped a career built on reliability rather than flash. Journeyman is too dismissive a word for a player so many clubs trusted to do the dirty defensive work. I tend to root for these dependable, body-on-the-line types more than for marquee names, and Barr strikes me as a genuine workhorse of the Scottish game.
