My Take

What draws me to Edan Lui is the tension between idol and actor. Plenty of pop-group members coast on charisma, but Edan seems unwilling to stay in his lane: a Mirror member who built a real solo career, hosted variety television, and committed to drama and film work like the Hong Kong Ossan's Love and Chilli Laugh Story. I read that hunger as ambition with substance. Hong Kong's entertainment scene is having a genuine moment, and figures like him are the reason it feels alive again. I'd happily watch where he pushes himself next; the curiosity in his choices is what keeps my attention.
