Junji Takada

I'll be honest, I'm a little obsessed with how Junji Takada has turned not taking anything seriously into an actual art form. The man is a born-and-raised Tokyo guy, in showbiz for decades, and yet his whole brand is dodging every question with some breezy nonsense and a grin that says "eh, whatever." Anybody else would've been canceled or scolded ages ago, but he just shrugs his way into being adored, and I find myself smirking along like a sucker. What gets me is that the looseness is the trick: he plays it like he's coasting on zero effort, but you can tell he's reading every room perfectly and choosing to keep it light. Pushing eighty and still cheeky as ever, somehow never crossing into gross. He's basically my walking permission slip to relax.
