My Take

Edoardo Pesce is the kind of actor I trust on sight. Within a single year he took a Nastro d'Argento for Best Actor and a David di Donatello for Best Supporting Actor, plus a Ciak d'oro, and that range tells me everything. An actor who can carry a lead and also disappear into support is rare; he serves the film rather than his own spotlight. The fact that he writes too suggests he grasps storytelling from the inside out. I'd rather follow a performer like this, whose reputation rests on craft instead of noise, than chase whoever is trending.
