My Take

Eli Craig earned my respect with a single film. Tucker & Dale vs. Evil is a cult horror comedy that flips the slasher formula on its head, and the wit behind that inversion is genuinely clever writing, not just gore for laughs. An LA-born talent who acts but really shines as a storyteller, he understands that comedy and horror sit a hair's breadth apart and dances right on that line. I am always drawn to filmmakers who can make me laugh and flinch in the same breath, and I keep hoping Craig will give us more features. Underused, in my view.
