Erick Thohir

Erick Thohir fascinates me because he refuses to stay in one lane. Founding the Mahaka media and sports conglomerate would be a full life for most, yet he went on to serve as a government minister and chair Indonesia's football association. I'm interested in how he treats sport not as a hobby but as a lever for national influence, which explains his place among Asia's most influential figures. Whether his political and sporting ambitions ultimately reinforce or complicate each other is the open question, but the sheer breadth of his reach commands attention and, frankly, my respect.
