My Take

Erik Palladino is the kind of character actor I always root for. From Dr. Malucci on ER to roles in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and a crime boss in Godfather of Harlem, he brings a lived-in authenticity that anchors every scene he enters. What I admire is his range: he can play the hot-headed young doctor and the menacing mob figure with equal conviction. A Yonkers kid trained at Marymount Manhattan, he clearly earned every role. That he also writes and produces tells me he understands storytelling from the inside out, and that depth shows on screen.
