My Take
Eva Ionesco's life reads, to me, like a film in itself. Known first as a child subject of her mother's photography, she later reclaimed the narrative as a director and screenwriter, turning lived experience into art. Watching the impulse behind works like My Little Princess, I sense a fierce will to transform pain into something authored on her own terms. That shift from the one being looked at to the one doing the showing earns my deep respect. I'm always moved by artists who possess the courage to offer their hardest experiences back to us as work.
