My Take

Barba interests me less for trophies than for trajectory. A Rome-born centre-back, all 188 cm of him, who ended up anchoring the defence for Persib Bandung in Indonesia. There is something I genuinely respect in a European footballer choosing to build a career in Asia rather than chasing only the familiar leagues. It speaks to adaptability and a willingness to find his own place in the game. I picture a tall, commanding defender learning to dominate the box in an unfamiliar country, and I find myself rooting for him. A Roman making his stand far from home.
