My Take
Totti is in a category of his own for me. In a sport built on transfers, the Rome native gave his entire career to a single club, turning down money and glory to keep flying his hometown's flag. That kind of loyalty is almost extinct now. The European Golden Shoe and Golden Foot confirm the talent, but what wins me over is the romance of it, a swaggering genius who decided being the King of Rome was the only crown he wanted. He was cheeky, brilliant and impossibly devoted. When I think of one-club loyalty, Totti is the first name I reach for.
