Frank Warren

Frank Warren strikes me as one of those figures whose importance is inverse to his visibility. He never threw a punch in the spotlight, yet by founding Queensberry Promotions and the BoxNation channel he built the very stage on which British boxing's biggest nights unfolded. His 2008 induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame tells me the sport itself recognized that promoters can be artists too. What I admire most is the long game he played: not a flash of glory but decades of patient infrastructure. The fighters get the roar of the crowd, but men like Warren decide whether there is a crowd at all.
