My Take

At 218 centimeters, Weis was built for the highest level of the game, and the strangeness of his story is what stays with me. A first-round NBA draft pick who never actually played in North America, he carried the weight of enormous expectation and the gap between that promise and reality. I do not read that as failure. Finding your footing in European basketball instead is its own legitimate path, and choosing the life that fits over the one everyone assumed you wanted takes a quiet kind of courage.
