Hugh Dillon

Hugh Dillon is the kind of multi-hyphenate I instinctively respect because the music came first and shaped everything else. As the voice of the Headstones he learned presence the loud way, and that hard-won charisma seeps into his on-screen work, from Flashpoint to Yellowstone to Mayor of Kingstown. He tends to play men with bruises under the surface, and he plays them convincingly. What I admire is that he never seems to coast on either career; the singer informs the actor and vice versa. There is an unfussy, lived-in authenticity to him that polished leading men rarely manage to fake.
