Ichirōta Miyakawa

Ichirōta Miyakawa is the sort of actor whose face you recognize instantly and whose single defining role you cannot name, and I mean that as praise. Born March 25, 1966 in Shinjuku, Tokyo, he broke through as a teenager playing a boy in a film, and he has been working ever since: screen acting, voice work, and decades of television where he simply appears as himself, amiable and reliable. That is a completely different career from chasing lead roles. It's the craftsman's route, showing up wherever you're called and being good enough that they call again. Forty years of steady employment in an industry that discards people constantly is not a consolation prize. It's the whole achievement.
