My Take
To me, Iko Uwais is a genuine revolutionary in action cinema. Out of Jakarta, he brought the Indonesian martial art Pencak Silat to a global audience, and The Raid remains a landmark of what bodies and choreography alone can achieve without CGI crutches. The fact that he's an actor, fight choreographer, and stuntman all at once is proof of the real thing. His Hollywood crossover in Wu Assassins and Stuber expanded his reach without diluting his craft. If you crave physical, hand-to-hand combat over gunfights, this man simply delivers. I respect him enormously.
