J.D. Fortune

J.D. Fortune's story fascinates me because it's such a pure underdog arc. Winning Rock Star: INXS and then stepping into the impossible shoes of the late Michael Hutchence as frontman of INXS is the kind of pressure most singers never face. From Mississauga to fronting a global rock band, he had to prove himself nightly against an enormous legacy, and lasting six years says something about his grit. I respect performers who seize a once-in-a-lifetime chance and shoulder the expectations that come with it, and his voice still carries that sense of stakes for me.
