Jake Weber

Jake Weber is a craftsman's actor, the sort who makes the work look effortless precisely because it is not. English-born and Middlebury-educated, he moved fluidly between stage, film, and television, turning up as Michael in Dawn of the Dead and Drew in Meet Joe Black. His finest run, though, was as Joe DuBois on Medium, the perpetually exhausted husband grounding a supernatural premise in ordinary marriage. I respect that kind of role enormously: it gets no awards buzz but holds the whole thing together. Weber is proof that supporting work, done well, is its own quiet art.
