My Take
Jeremy Shamos is the sort of actor whose face you recognize before you can place the name, and I mean that as high praise. Trained in New York and educated at NYU, he is steeped in the discipline of the stage, and his Lucille Lortel Award confirms that the theater world rates him highly. What I value in performers like him is the reliability earned by exposing yourself live, night after night. He rarely takes the lead, but he tightens the air in every room he enters, and I would rather applaud that kind of grounded, supporting craft than any easy star wattage.
