Jon Moss

Jon Moss intrigues me because he was the backbone, not the face. As Culture Club's drummer he anchored some of the glossiest pop of the 1980s, yet his resume runs through the Damned, Adam and the Ants, and the Nips too, marking him as a genuine journeyman craftsman. I have a soft spot for musicians who keep the time rather than chase the spotlight. Behind every charismatic frontman sits someone holding the groove together, and Moss clearly did that across wildly different scenes. That quiet versatility, threading punk energy into pop sheen, is exactly the kind of understated mastery I admire most.
