Joon Park

Joon Park is a genuine bridge between two cultures, and that is what makes him compelling to me. Seoul-born but raised in California and educated at Cal State Long Beach, he carried an American sensibility back to Korea and became the leader and rapper of g.o.d. That blend of stateside swagger and Korean warmth gave him a presence that is hard to imitate. What impresses me most is his longevity; thriving as a singer, actor and entertainer across decades in an industry that chews people up takes real charisma and grit. I have deep respect for performers who stay beloved long after the trends that launched them have faded.
