Jung Myung-seok

I find it hard to write anything generous about Jung Myung-seok, and I won't pretend otherwise. He built a religious movement and was convicted of sexual assault, exploiting the very trust that faith is supposed to protect. To me, that is among the most cynical betrayals a person can commit. I include him here not out of interest in his teachings but as a record and a warning: charisma wrapped in spiritual language can be a weapon. My real attention goes to the survivors, whose courage in coming forward matters far more than his name. Remember this entry as caution, never admiration.
