Karl-Heinz Rummenigge

Rummenigge fascinates me because he conquered football twice, in two completely different ways. As a player he was a lethal forward, a Ballon d'Or winner and the heartbeat of West German attacks, and that alone would secure his legacy. But then he reinvented himself as the executive who steered Bayern Munich into a global powerhouse from the boardroom, a transition very few athletes manage with such authority. That blend of on-pitch brilliance and off-pitch strategic mind is exactly what I find most compelling about him. His FIFA 100 inclusion feels almost like an understatement for a man who shaped German football across decades.
