My Take
What strikes me most about Kate Bush is how completely she rejected the standard pop career playbook and won anyway. She trained in mime, wrote songs as a child, and built records that sound like nobody else's, then largely stepped away from the spotlight on her own terms. I find her rediscovery by younger listeners deeply satisfying: it proves that genuinely original work doesn't expire, it just waits. To me she's less a singer than a self-contained art form, and the 2023 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction felt like the institutions finally catching up to what fans always knew.
