My Take
Katherine Langford broke through as Hannah Baker in 13 Reasons Why, and I still think her performance carried that whole series. The Australian actress brought a fragile, lived-in honesty to an incredibly difficult role, earning a Golden Globe nomination right out of the gate. I loved her warmth in Love, Simon too, and her steely turn as Nimue in Cursed. Funnily enough, she trained as a competitive swimmer before acting, which somehow tracks with the discipline she radiates on screen. I keep waiting for the big role that lets her really cut loose, because I'm convinced she's got far more range than she's been given.
