My Take
Katrin Himmler did something that demands real moral nerve. A German writer and political scientist born in Dinslaken, she is a relative of Heinrich Himmler, and rather than bury that inheritance she wrote The Himmler Brothers, a clear-eyed history of her own family's role in the Nazi machinery. I have enormous respect for that choice. Confronting your own bloodline's darkest chapter, with archives instead of excuses, is exactly how a society keeps its memory honest. She turned an unbearable legacy into responsible scholarship.
