My Take

Katsuyuki Konishi owns one of the most versatile voices in Japanese animation. Kamina's soul-igniting bravado in Gurren Lagann, Laxus's menace in Fairy Tail, and the sheer comic warmth of Tanktop Master in One Punch Man could easily be three different actors, yet they are all him. That range, anchored by a resonant low register, is why his 2015 Seiyu Award for Best Supporting Actor felt overdue rather than surprising. To me he is a true craftsman who can raise the emotional temperature of a scene whether he is leading it or quietly supporting from the edges.
