Hyde

I'll be honest, Hyde is one of those artists who genuinely messes with my sense of time. The guy's been fronting Japanese rock for decades, yet he looks like he made a deal at some dusty crossroads and never aged a day. What gets me is the contrast: he's tiny, barely over five feet, but the voice and the gothic, vampy stage presence fill an entire arena like he's nine feet tall. I love that he refuses to sit in one lane too, drifting between soaring band anthems and these gorgeous, aching ballads without breaking character. And then you hear he's a Wakayama kid through and through, and suddenly that mysterious dark-prince aura comes with this warm, down-to-earth root. That mix of untouchable and human is exactly why he sticks with me.
