My Take

Kiril Despodov is the sort of player I instinctively cheer for. Making his senior debut at fifteen tells me he was extraordinary before most kids finish school, and captaining Bulgaria while starring as a winger for PAOK confirms the early promise was real. I have a soft spot for players who carry a so-called smaller footballing nation on their shoulders, because the pressure is immense and the rewards thinner. Wingers who slice down the flank are simply the most thrilling players to watch. I would love to see his rise from a tiny town like Kresna get wider recognition.
