My Take

Konstantinos "Dinos" Mavropanos is exactly the kind of centre-back I enjoy watching develop. At 193cm, the Athens-born Greek brings the physical presence you'd expect, but what interests me is his journey: from Greek football into the demanding English game, and his move to West Ham United in the Premier League. Anchoring the Greece national team's defence is no small responsibility either. Tall centre-backs sometimes get pigeonholed as pure stoppers, yet I get the sense he's trying to round out his game on the ball too. He's still young enough that his best seasons may well be ahead of him.
