My Take

What I admire about Lee Barnard is the unglamorous craft of his game. A 173 cm striker out of Romford was never going to overpower defenders, so his living had to come from anticipation, timing and the quiet art of the finish. Those are the strikers I find most interesting, the ones whose value barely shows up in highlight reels but constantly tilts a match. Born in 1984, he came up in the trenches of English football, and that kind of journeyman grit earns my respect far more than flashier reputations. I would love to dig into the run of clubs that shaped him.
