My Take

Lee Jin-young is the kind of player I find easy to admire: a left-handed-hitting right fielder from Gunsan who built a long career in the KBO and then stayed in the game as a Doosan Bears coach. I always think the transition from player to coach says a lot about someone's baseball IQ and how teammates viewed them. Coming out of Gunsan Commercial High School and sticking around the pro game for years suggests real durability. I don't have his full stat line in front of me, but the move into coaching tells me he was respected for more than just his bat.
