Liz Cambage

Liz Cambage fascinates me as much for her contradictions as her dominance. At 203cm she's a genuinely overpowering presence, and the WNBL titles plus a Chinese league championship show she can win across very different basketball cultures. What I respect most is that she's never treated herself as just a body on a court; she's been outspoken about mental health and the way athletes get used up. The Australian career with London roots gives her a borderless feel that suits how she carries herself. I read her as someone who'd rather be honest and complicated than easily marketable, and the sport is more interesting for it.
