My Take
Mali Harries appeals to me as a quietly grounded talent. Working in both Welsh and English since 1989, she has anchored well-made series like Hinterland and sustained homegrown staples such as Pobol y Cwm. Actors who hold the screen through conviction rather than flash tend to last, and her presence in moody crime drama suggests exactly that kind of lived-in authority. I find something admirable in a performer who champions her own language and culture while still working nationally; that balance feels like a real sense of place, and it makes me want to follow her career.
