My Take

What fascinates me about Burt Ward is how completely a single role can define and then liberate a life. As Robin to Adam West's Batman, he became the template for every sidekick that followed, and the campy 1960s show could easily have trapped him forever. Instead he leaned into it, doing his own stunts and embracing the comedy, then earned a Hollywood Walk of Fame star more than fifty years later. What I admire most is the second act: a childhood hero who poured his energy into animal welfare. That quiet consistency of character, not the cape, is what makes him worth remembering.
