My Take
Maria Menounos is more interesting to me as a builder than as a broadcaster. Born in Medford, Massachusetts, and Emerson-educated, she became a familiar face hosting Extra and E! News, but the move that earns my respect is what happened off camera. Co-founding AfterBuzz TV and running it as CEO is a different ambition entirely, the talent quietly seizing ownership of the pipes rather than just appearing in them. Plenty of presenters are content to be hired; far fewer build the platform that hires others. That appetite to control her own infrastructure is what makes her, to me, the rare host worth watching twice.
