My Take
What I admire about Mary Wiseman is her gift for making an ensemble role feel essential. As Sylvia Tilly across seven years of Star Trek: Discovery, she turned an anxious, fast-talking cadet into one of the show's emotional anchors, no small feat in a franchise built on icons. Her Boston University stage training shows in how precisely she lands dialogue, and she belongs to that valuable class of actors who raise the temperature of every scene without demanding the spotlight. I'd happily follow her into whatever quieter, character-driven work comes next.
